Loot is a black comedy – a farce that satirizes the church, attitudes to death, the integrity of the police force and other social norms.
The Sunday Telegraph called it “the most genuinely quick-witted, pungent and sprightly entertainment by a new young British playwright for a decade”.
The play won several awards in its original London run, and has been revived in many professional productions. It has gained a reputation as a comic masterpiece.
